My sister found this in a vegetarian recipe magazine a million years ago. Great way to use up your garden's green tomato overflow and much healthier than the traditional fried green tomatoes. Ingredients:
4 -5 green tomatoes, chopped |
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves |
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg |
1/4 cup butter, melted |
1 lemon, juice of |
1 cup light brown sugar |
2 cups rolled oats |
Directions:
1. Put chopped tomatoes in lightly oiled baking dish. 2. Combine remaining ingredients and spread on top. 3. Bake for 40 minutes at 350 degrees F. |
