Delishous. Adapted from The Southern Heritage Company's Coming! Cookbook - 1983. Ingredients:
1 c water |
4 c shelled fresh green peas (i use green giant/birdseye frozen small peas |
1 head lettuce, shredded |
1 parsley sprig |
4 green onions, sliced |
1/4 c butter or margarine |
1 t heavy cream |
1 t sugar |
3/4 t salt |
Directions:
1. Bring water to a boil in a large saucepan; add peas, lettuce, parsley, onions, and butter. 2. Bring to a boil; cover, reduce heat, and cook 30 minutes or until tender. 3. Remove parsley. 4. Stir in heavy cream, sugar, and salt; cook 1 minute. 5. Note: 6. Serve in center of Carrot Ring Mold |
