A great idea for those cold nights. A new twist to an old favourite. Sometimes we have it as a light meal when we feel that we have overstuffed ourselves and we need a food-rest. Try it with fresh bread and butter on the side. Read more . Are you drooling yet ? Ingredients:
1 bag of frozen peas |
3 large onions |
50gr' butter (please! no margarine) |
2 liters of water |
1 tablespoon of chicken soup powder |
1 tablespoon of onion soup powder |
optional |
2 sticks of celery |
2 teaspoons of ground nutmeg. (by us this is a must) |
black pepper according to taste |
1 teaspoon of ground bayleaves |
Directions:
1. Slice onions 2. wipe the tears away 3. melt butter in the pot 4. Turn on the stove first! It heats up quicker. 5. fry the onions (just for a minute or two). You don't need a pan for this one. it will just mean something else to wash afterwards 6. Answer the phone and tell them your'e busy. 7. Add everything else and bring to the boil. 8. There's the phone again! Just let it ring. 9. Turn the heat down to low. 10. After about an hour, turn off the heat and let it cool down for a while. 11. Blend with hand-blender 12. Reheat before serving. (Wasn't that obvious ?) 13. May be frozen and then thawed and heated as needed. (That's what we do) 14. Don't forget the croutons 15. OH! That damn phone |
