The brownies from outer space! I found this recipe in First magazine. I have not tried this recipe, but I'm posting it for safe keeping. Ingredients:
20 ounces double chocolate brownie mix |
2/3 cup strawberry preserves |
16 ounces vanilla frosting, melted |
1/2 teaspoon green food coloring paste |
32 chow mein noodles |
32 small oranges, mints |
32 chocolate sprinkles |
32 green nonpareil candy sprinkles |
32 chocolate kiss candies (mini yellow kiss candy coated chocolates) |
16 pieces black string licorice (2-inch pieces) |
Directions:
1. Prepare brownie mix according to package directions. Pour batter into greased and lined 13 x9 baking pan. Bake 30 minutes; let cool 15 minutes. Invert brownie onto cooling rack; let cool completely. Halve brownie horizontally. 2. Spread preserves over 1 brownie layer; top with remaining layer. Using 3 oval cookie cutter, cut out 16 brownies and place on rack set in baking sheet. 3. Reserve 1 tablesopoon frosting. Stir food coloring into remaining frosting; pour over cakes. Insert chow mein noodles for antennae. Using reserved frosting, attach remaining ingredients to form features. |
