Green Beans With Water Chestnuts |

Love those water chestnuts they spruce up so many dishes. Do not over cook the beans Ingredients:
1 (227 ml) can water chestnuts, cut each in half |
1 lb green beans, trimmed |
1 medium onion, chopped |
3 tablespoons butter or 3 tablespoons margarine |
salt |
1/4 teaspoon mace |
Directions:
1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil, add beans and cook for 6-8 minutes. 2. Melt the butter/margarine in a skillet, add onion and saute for 7 minutes, stirring. 3. Stir in salt, mace and water chestnuts; saute 2 minutes. 4. Add beans and saute until heated through. |
