Green Beans With Tomatoes |

A great tasting sidedish, perfect as a side to ham. Ingredients:
1 lb fresh green beans |
2 large onions, chopped |
2 cups fresh tomatoes, chopped |
4 strips bacon |
1 tsp salt |
1/8 tsp pepper |
1/4 tsp dried basil, crumbled |
1 cup hot water |
Directions:
1. String the beans and cut into 1 pieces. Fry out bacon until crisp, drain and reserve. 2. Sauté onions in bacon fat until translucent, not brown. 3. Add the beans, tomatoes, seasonings and water and cook until the beans are tender, 30 to 40 minutes. |
