Green Beans With Shallots and Red Bell Pepper |

A simple side dish from Southern Living Magazine. Ingredients:
2 lbs fresh green beans |
1/3 cup butter or 1/3 cup margarine |
3 large shallots, chopped |
1 large red bell pepper, cut thin strips |
1 teaspoon kosher salt or 1 teaspoon table salt |
1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper |
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder |
Directions:
1. Cook beans in boiling water to cover in a Dutch oven 3 to 4 minutes or until crisp-tender; drain. 2. Melt butter in Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add shallots and bell pepper, and saute 4 minutes or until tender. Add beans; toss with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. |
