GREEN BEANS WITH ORANGE AND HAZELNUTS This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Fargo Estate in Denton, Texas in 1986. Ingredients:
1 pound green beans ends trimmed |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 tablespoon unsalted butter |
1/2 teaspoon freshly grated orange zest |
1/3 cup chopped toasted hazelnuts |
Directions:
1. In large saucepan bring 2 quarts of water to a boil. 2. Add beans and salt then cook uncovered 5 minutes then drain beans and pat them dry. 3. Heat butter in large skillet over medium low heat then add beans and salt. 4. Cook stirring often until beans are heated through about 3 minutes. 5. Remove from heat then add orange zest and toss to combine. 6. Add hazelnuts and toss again then serve immediately. |
