This is a simple way to serve garden green beans with summer herbs. Adapted from New Mexico Magazine (March 2004) Ingredients:
1 lb green beans, trimmed |
1/4 cup water |
2 -3 tablespoons butter |
1/2 cup chopped onion |
1/4 cup chopped celery |
1 clove garlic, minced |
1 tablespoon rosemary, chopped (or use 1/2 teaspoon dried) |
1 tablespoon basil, chopped (or use 1/2 teaspoon dried) |
Directions:
1. Place beans and water in sauce pan and bring to a boil. 2. Cook for 6-8 minutes or until crisp-tender. 3. Drain and return to pan. 4. Add remaining ingredients to pan. 5. Cover and cook for 4-6 minutes or until vegetables are tender. |
