Green Beans the Old Fashioned Way |

These flavorful beans can be made with fresh or frozen green beans. Ingredients:
1 lb green beans |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 tablespoon bacon grease |
2 tablespoons butter |
Directions:
1. Wash beans and snap them into 1 1/2 pieces, discarding ends. 2. Cover with water and add salt and bacon grease. 3. Cover and bring to a boil. 4. Turn down to simmer and continue cooking for about an hour. 5. Pour off water and add 2 T butter. Let sit with lid on for a minute for butter to melt, then toss beans a little to distribute butter. |
