This is the recipe for the authentic green beans my Grandmother made and passed down through the generations! You will have to reserve some bacon grease next time you fry bacon, because there is no substitute for the flavor it gives green beans! Bon appetit, Y'all! Ingredients:
2 (14 1/2 ounce) cans green beans |
2 tablespoons reserved bacon grease |
2 tablespoons cooking oil |
1 teaspoon garlic salt |
1 teaspoon pepper |
Directions:
1. Place green beans, bacon grease, oil, garlic salt and pepper in a medium pot. 2. Cook on high until boiling. 3. Reduce heat and simmer for 1/2 hour. |
