The fresh flavor of green beans really shines in this dish and the light sauce is more of a dressing. Ingredients:
2 tablespoons butter |
3 pounds green beans, trimmed |
3 cups chicken broth |
1/2 teaspoon pepper |
2 tablespoons cornstarch |
1/4 cup water |
2 tablespoons lemon juice |
1/4 cup slivered almonds, toasted |
Directions:
1. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add beans and saute 5 minutes. Add broth and pepper; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 15 minutes. Dissolve cornstarch in water; add to skillet. Bring to a boil; cook one minute, stirring constantly. Stir in lemon juice. Sprinkle with almonds. |
