The whole family, particularly my DIL, love this basic side dish. The bacon and the onion are the key. Ingredients:
6 slices bacon, cut up |
1 lb green beans, snapped |
1 small onion, chopped coarsely |
1 teaspoon salt |
to-taste ground fresh black pepper |
water, to cover |
Directions:
1. Cook bacon until rendered. Add onion and cook until translucent. 2. Add beans, salt, pepper, and water. Simmer until greens beans are tender. |
