GREEK STYLE SALAD This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Cullen Estate in Allen, Texas in 1984. Ingredients:
3 romaine lettuce leaves |
1 medium tomato |
1/4 cup feta cheese crumbled |
dressing |
1/2 tablespoon olive oil |
1/2 tablespoon lemon juice |
1/4 teaspoon oregano |
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt |
1/8 teaspoon thyme |
1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper |
6 pitted black olives |
Directions:
1. Tear lettuce into bite size pieces and cut tomato into small chunks. 2. In glass bowl combine lettuce, tomato and cheese then cover and chill. 3. In a cup combine olive oil, lemon juice, spices and beat together with a fork. 4. Pour dressing over salad and toss gently to coat ingredients. 5. Slice olives and sprinkle over salad then serve immediately. |
