Ingredients:
1.5 pound(s) ground lamb |
1 cup(s) sweet onion chopped |
3 clove(s) garlic minced |
1 can(s) garbanzo beans |
1 can(s) stewed tomatoes undrained and cut up |
1/4 cup(s) dry red wine |
1 bayleaf |
1 teaspoon(s) dried oregano crushed |
1 teaspoon(s) dried mint crushed |
1/2 teaspoon(s) salt |
1/2 teaspoon(s) dried thyme crushed |
1/2 teaspoon(s) dried marjoram crushed |
6 whole wheat pitas split |
1 cucumber sliced |
1 container(s) feta cheese |
sliced olives |
Directions:
1. Cook ground lamb, onion, and garlic over medium heat until meat is brown and onion is tender. Drain fat. In slow cooker combine meat mixture, beans, tomatoes, wine, bay leaf, oregano, mint, salt, thyme, and marjoram. Cover and cook on low heat for 6-8hrs or on high for 3-4hrs. Remove and discard bay leaf. Spoon over pita halves and add toppings. |
