I got this recipe out of an old cookbook called angel food from orange county...........the pictures i found on the web apparently theres a restaurant called the flaming cheese hahaha........i had this is florida had tarpon springs. Read more ........its very good and so easy to make Ingredients:
1- pound soft kasseri or kefalotiri cheese |
3- tablepoon melted butter |
juice of 1/2 - lemon |
thin slices of crusty bread ......or toasted bread |
2- tablespoons brandy |
Directions:
1. Cut cheese into 3 wedges or slices 1/4 inch thick 2. place on a broiler pan 3. brush with melted butter 4. broil 4-6 inches from heat until cheese is bubbly and light brown 5. remove from heat 6. pour brandy over the cheese and ignite immediatley 7. sprinkle with lemon juice and serve with bread 8. serves 8...... |
