This is the sugar cookie recipe found on Wal-Mart's brand, Great Value, sugar bag. Hands down - this is the BEST sugar cookie recipe I've ever tried! Rather than rolling out these cookies and using cookie cutters, I form the dough into a log, cover with cling wrap and freeze. To bake, just slice 1/4 thick! *Preparation time does not include chilling time *Number of servings depends upon size of cookie shapes Ingredients:
1 cup butter |
3 tablespoons milk |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 egg |
3 cups flour |
1 cup sugar |
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400°F. 2. In a large bowl, cream the wet ingredients. 3. Add the dry ingredients and mix until completely combined. 4. Cover and chill for 1 hour to make dough easier to handle. 5. Roll out 1/4″ thick and cut with cookie cutters. 6. Bake for 5-9 minutes or until edges just begin to become golden. 7. They may appear undercooked but they will turn out perfectly. 8. DON’T overcook. |
