Great Grandma Gregory's Nut Pie

My mother-in-law handed this down to me because she says that this is the best homemade nut pie ever, with a yummy flaky crust.
Ingredients:
1 cup flour
1/2 cup crisco
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 -3 tablespoons cold water
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
3 eggs
2/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup butter, melted
1 cup dark corn syrup
1 cup nuts, of your choice
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 425°F.
2. For flaky crust, combine the flour, crisco, salt, cold water and baking powder in a bowl, and then pat onto a pie pan and bake until golden brown, about 9-12 minutes.
3. For the nut filling, beat thesugar, salt, butter, eggs and syrup until blended, and then stir in nuts.
4. Pour into your prepared crust (made or bought), bake at 375°F for 40-50 minutes.
