I am not a big fan of fluffy biscuits - in fact I don't really like them, to be quite honest. I have a recipe that will absolutely set you free! Though it's not fluffy, it is a biscuit that you'll want to have around all the time - it comes from Ruth Rowan - a wonderful woman, 73 yrs. of age. She says they're great to have on hand if someone should stop by. They are good with any meal, with cheese/ham/bacon/jelly/honey/etc. or by themselves - and the very best part?! The recipe is QUICK and EASY!! Ingredients:
1 cup self rising flour |
1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine (set it out for 8-10 minutes or so) |
1/2 cup sour cream |
Directions:
1. Mix the ingredients together. 2. Roll the dough and cut the biscuits about 1/2 inch thick. 3. Bake at 400 degrees for 10-15 minutes (oven variation)**I use a cast iron biscuit skillet. |
