We made these for Christmas this year and they are very rich! Cut them like pieces of fudge. Ingredients:
3/4 cup powdered sugar |
3/4 cup margarine or 3/4 cup butter, softened |
2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled |
1 1/2 cups flour |
1/4 teaspoon baking powder |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1 tablespoon milk |
1/4 teaspoon mint extract |
4 cups powdered sugar |
1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese, softened |
1/4 cup margarine or 1/4 cup butter, softened |
3 tablespoons milk |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1/4 teaspoon mint extract |
6 drops green food coloring |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 325º. 2. Grease 13x9 inch pan. 3. In large bowl, beat 3/4 cup powdered sugar and 3/4 cup margarine until light and fluffy. 4. Stir in melted cooled chocolate. 5. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off. 6. Add flour, baking powder, salt, 1 tablespoon milk and 1/4 teaspoon mint extract to margarine mixture; mix well. 7. Dough will be stiff. 8. Press dough into greased pan. 9. Bake at 325º for 15-25 minutes or until center is set. 10. Cool completely. 11. In large bowl, blend all topping ingredients; beat til smooth. 12. Spread over base. 13. Cut into squares. 14. Store in fridge. |
