I love grape-nuts cereal and a friend of mine passed this recipe along to me. Ingredients:
3 1/4 cups boiling water |
2 cups grape-nuts cereal |
2 eggs, separated |
1 tablespoon cinnamon |
1 teaspoon ground cloves |
1 teaspoon nutmeg |
2 cups walnuts, chopped |
1/2 cup raisins |
1/2 cup dates, chopped |
1 pinch salt |
Directions:
1. Pour boiling water over Grape-Nuts and set aside to cool. 2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 3. Beat egg whites until stiff; set aside. 4. Beat yolks with spices; add nuts, raisins, dates, and salt. 5. Mix with Grape-Nuts and fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. 6. Pour into buttered 10-cup souffle dish. 7. Bake 45-60 minutes. |
