This is the recipe that all our moms made in the 50's and 60's for their cocktail parties. Sooooo goooood... Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef |
1 egg |
1 10-ounce jar grape jelly or jam |
1 12-ounce bottle chili sauce |
onion salt |
celery salt |
garlic salt |
salt |
pepper |
*measurement for seasoning is just a dash, or at most, 1/8 teaspoon. |
Directions:
1. Slowly heat grape jelly or jam with chili sauce. Shape remaining ingredients into tiny meatballs. Do not brown meatballs; simply heat them gently in slightly bubbling jelly-chili combination for approximately 20 minutes. Serve in chafing dish to keep warm. Can be prepared and frozen for use later. Makes approximately 25-30 cocktail size meatballs. |
