Choose sweet, delicate Tupelo honey for this healthy cereal. Ingredients:
4 cups uncooked regular oats |
1 cup sunflower seeds |
1/2 cup whole almonds |
1/2 cup sesame seeds |
3/4 cup wheat germ |
1 (3.5-ounce) can flaked coconut |
1/2 cup honey |
1/3 cup vegetable oil |
2 tablespoons water |
1 cup dried apricots, coarsely chopped |
1 cup raisins |
Directions:
1. Combine first 6 ingredients in a large bowl. Stir together honey, oil, and 2 tablespoons water; pour over oat mixture, tossing well. Spread mixture into a lightly greased 15- x 10-inch jellyroll pan. 2. Bake at 225° for 1 hour and 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes. 3. Stir in apricot and raisins. Cool completely. Store in an airtight container. |
