In cerierial -erierial -erierial! This is my mom's granola recipe, honed to our oven and taste buds. Ingredients:
1/2 cup water |
1/3 cup vegetable/canola oil |
1/2 cup sugar |
1 tsp. vanilla |
1/2 tsp. cinnamon |
1/4 tsp. nutmeg |
pinch salt |
4 cups rolled oats |
1/4 cup ground flax seed |
1/3 cup walnuts |
1/4 cup wheat germ |
1/8 cup oat flour |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 220. 2. Heat water, oil, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a large microwave safe dish for 2 minutes, or until sugar is melted. Add vanilla. 3. Mix dry ingredients together in a bowl. Slowly add the dry to the wet mixture and stir until uniform. Turn mixed granola out onto a baking sheet (preferably one with a lip) and spread evenly. 4. Bake for approximately 2-1/2 to 3 hours, or until granola is chewy or crunchy to your liking. As it bakes turn cereal with a spatula every 30 minutes. |
