Fairly simple granola recipe. My brother gave it to me, and it is one of my favourite breakfasts. Just pour some over a bowl of yogurt, and you have a nice, light breakfast! For the dried fruit I prefer cranberries, but you can try various things. Read more . Very nice crunchy texture as well. Excellent for a quick snack or taking breakfast on the run. Ingredients:
6 cups oats |
1 - 1/2 cup chopped nuts |
1/2 - 1/4 cup seeds |
pinch of cinnamon |
1/2 cup honey |
1/2 cup maple syrup |
1 tsp. vanilla |
1 cup dried fruit |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Spread oats and nuts on a baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown. Transfer to large bowl and stir in the seeds and cinnamon. Turn the oven down to 300 degrees. 3. In a small bowl combined the maple syrup, honey, and vanilla. Pour over oat mixture and stir to coat. 4. Spread on baking sheet. Bake for 30 minutes, stirring once or twice. Remove and put in the dried fruit. 5. Do not worry if the mixture is still moist. It will dry if you leave it for a little while. It is also very hot when you remove it from the oven, so be careful! |
