A simple lasagna loved by the Grandchildren Ingredients:
2 tablespoons olive oil |
1 onion, finely chopped |
2 garlic cloves, crushed |
2 lbs ground chuck |
1 (24 ounce) jar pasta sauce |
1/2 box barilla no cook lasagna noodle |
6 tablespoons parmesan cheese |
white sauce |
4 tablespoons butter |
3 tablespoons flour |
3 cups milk |
Directions:
1. grease a 9x 13 pyrex dish. 2. preheat oven to 325 3. Make the white sauce first - 4. Melt the butter in a heavy saucepan, add the flour and heat over med heat for 2 mins stirring constantly.Slowly add the milk, stirring constantly until thickened ( it may take more or less milk than 3 cups, just add slowly ). 5. Make the meat sauce - 6. Heat the olive oil in a skillet, add the onions and garlic and cook over med heat until softened. 7. Add the ground beef and cook until browned. 8. Add the spaghetti sauce. 9. Assemble the lasagna - 10. Pour a thin layer of meat sauce in the bottom of the pyrex dish, follow with one layer of noodles , then repeat a layer of meat sauce and noodles. 11. Pour the white sauce over the top layer of noodles. 12. Sprinkle parmesan cheese on top. 13. Butter a piece of foil and cover the lasagna dish. 14. Bake in the oven for one hour until bubbly and the noodles are soft. |
