Granny Smith Apple Freezer Jam |

This is a Southern Living recipe. Ingredients:
5 cups granny smith apples, coarsely chopped, unpeeled (about 5 medium apples or 1 1/2 pounds) |
1 cup sugar |
1/2 cup pasteurized apple juice |
1 (1 5/8 ounce) envelope freezer jam pectin |
Directions:
1. Pulse chopped apples in food processor 10 times or until finely chopped. 2. Place in a medium bowl. 3. Stir in sugar and juice; let stand 15 minutes. 4. Gradually stir in pectin. 5. Stir for 3 minutes; let stand 5 minutes. 6. Spoon fruit mixture into sterilized canning jars, filling to 1/2 inch from top; wipe jar rims clean. 7. Cover with metal lids and screw on bands. 8. Place in freezer. |
