My great-grandmothers yeast rolls. I've never tasted any like them! I did my best to copy the recipe, but she never measured and mine never taste quite like hers! Ingredients:
5 cups flour |
3 tbs sugar |
1 tsp baking soda |
1 pkg yeast |
1/4 cup water |
2 cups buttermilk |
1/2 cup shortening |
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients together, cover and refrigerate over night 2. Roll out; cut (she cut them into squares) and let rise 1-2 hours 3. Bake 350 degrees; about 15 minutes |
