Granny Erma's Chocolate Gravy

This is good for breakfast, served on homemade or canned biscuits. After pouring over biscuits, its extra good if you plop more butter on top and let it melt. Yummy!!!
Ingredients:
1 cup water
1 1/2 cups whole milk
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup self-rising flour
3 tablespoons cocoa
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons butter
Directions:
1. In a small bowl, combine sugar, self-rising flour, and cocoa.Mix well,until all lumps are gone.Set aside.
2. In a saucepan, combine water and milk. On medium-high heat, bring to a boil. Slightly reduce heat.
3. With a wire whisk, stir in sugar-flour-cocoa mixture. Stir until thickened.
4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and butter.
5. Serve immediately over hot biscuits.
