Not my grandpa's chili, but a family favorite of a co-worker of mine. Since I made this chili, I never went back to my own family recipe! Ingredients:
2 lbs lean ground beef |
2 medium onions, chopped |
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste |
2 (15 ounce) cans chili beans |
1/4 cup brown sugar |
1 tablespoon chili powder |
1 teaspoon dried celery leaves |
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce |
2 bay leaves |
1 dash red pepper powder |
1 dash paprika |
3/4 cup catsup |
salt and pepper |
Directions:
1. Brown meat and onions in a skillet; drain off fat. Add all other ingredients, bring to a boil, and then simmer for 30 to 45 minutes. Let stand in refrigerator for 24 hours. Reheat and serve. |
