This is an old fashion recipe for cereal that the kids love, as well. Top this one with fresh berries, apple slices or slivered almonds. Made with whole milk yogurt and fresh low fat milk....or you can opt for non fat version, as well. Read more ... Ingredients:
1 cup low fat milk plus additional if needed in morning if desired. |
1 cup whole milk plain yogurt plus additional in morning if desired |
2 tablespoons honey or to taste |
2 cups instant oatmeal preferably mccanns irish oatmeal or steel oats. |
fresh berries, sliced bananas or grated apple |
Directions:
1. Whisk together the milk, yogurt and honey in a bowl. 2. Add the oatmeal and stir well. 3. Cover the bowl in plastic wrap. 4. Refrigerate overnight and take out in morning. 5. In the morning stir the muesli well and add additional milk if desired. 6. Although the non fat opiton has obvious slimming benefits the whole milk and whole yogurt gives a richer flavor and consistency. 7. Plain yogut is packed with calcium and protein. |
