You know it is the holiday season when it is time to make this amazing casserole. My wife's grandmother made this every Thanksgiving and Christmas. Now it is our turn to pass on the tradition. Enjoy this southern favorite! Ingredients:
29 ounces mashed sweet potatoes |
1 cup sugar |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/4 cup butter |
1/2 cup milk |
2 teaspoons butter flavor extract |
2 eggs |
1/4 cup butter |
1 cup brown sugar |
1/3 cup flour |
Directions:
1. Mix the mixture ingredients together in a bowl; pour mixture into a greased 8 x 8 glass pan. 2. Mix the topping ingredients into a loose mixture; this is best done by melting the butter and slowly stirring it into the brown sugar and flour mixture. Once it is mixed completely, sprinkle it on top of the mixture in the glass pan. 3. Cook for 35 minutes at 350 degrees, uncovered. |
