(Grandma) June Schmidt Ingredients:
1 small onion, chopped |
1/2 teaspoon anise seed |
1 tablespoon parsley |
1 tablespoon oregano |
1 tablespoon basil |
salt |
fresh ground pepper |
1 -2 garlic clove, chopped |
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste |
1 (20 ounce) can italian tomatoes, cut up |
2 tablespoons grated cheese |
1 1/2 lbs ground sirloin |
1 garlic clove, chopped |
1 teaspoon dried parsley |
2 tablespoons grated cheese |
2 eggs |
salt and pepper |
2 slices stale bread, crumbled |
Directions:
1. Mix ingredients for sauce and simmer one hour. 2. Mix ingredients for meatballs and form into 1.5 balls. Drop in simmering sauce and let cook another hour. |
