Grandmas Simple Pound Cake |

This wondeful pound cake, from my grandmother was a favorite growing up. Not too buttery or heavy, always perfect. Of course, Grandma made it. Subtle hint of lemon and vanilla, topped with Ice Cream and fresh peaches from her tree, life was good. Ingredients:
2 cups sugar |
2 cups flour |
1/4 tsp salt |
1 tsp baking soda |
1 cup butter, softened |
5 eggs |
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract |
1 1/2 tsp lemon extract |
simple, 8 ingredients.. |
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients in a large mixer bowl until smooth about 5 or 6 minutes. Add eggs , one at a time while you mix. 2. Pour into well buttered Bundt pan. (You can use bread loaf pan, but gram used this) 3. Bake at 325 for 60 minutes, or until cake tests done. 4. Simple and good , like Gram liked it. |
