Grandma's Oatmeal Crackers |

This is from a little book called Now The Feast. Ingredients:
1 cup shortening |
1 cup sugar |
2 cups flour |
1 pinch baking soda |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
4 cups oatmeal |
1/2 cup water |
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients. 2. Roll on cookie sheet and cut into squares. 3. Lightly sprinkle with salt. 4. Bake at 375* for 10-15 minutes until lightly browned. 5. Very good! (To roll out, I put waxed paper on the top and roll with rolling pin. Prevents the pin from sticking to the dough.) I guessed at number of servings. |
