If my memory is right these are crisp, lacy, and delicious. Ingredients:
3 cups rolled oats |
1 cup brown sugar |
1/4 cup boiling water |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 cup flour |
1 cup melted shortening |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
Directions:
1. Mix dry ingredients. 2. Add melted shortening,boiling water with soda. 3. Grandma added a little almond and vanilla extract. 4. Add dry ingredients. 5. Form into balls and press very flat with a damp cloth on the bottom of a glass or with a fork. 6. Bake 350 until brown. |
