Grandma's Oatmeal Coconut Squares |

Reliably delicious treat. Ingredients:
1 cup brown sugar |
1/2 cup butter |
2 cups rolled oats |
1/2 cup unsweetened dried shredded coconut |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. In a medium saucepan, melt butter, add brown sugar, and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Add oatmeal and coconut, mix. Let mixture cool then mix in baking powder. Press into greased square baking pan. Bake 1/2 hour. Cut into squares while still hot. |
