Grandma's Mother's Chili Sauce

A favourite recipe from my 103 year old grandmother. Each summer's end/autumn's beginning, the bees would gather at the screen door as she bottled this addictive blend.
Ingredients:
30 tomatoes (large, ripe)
6 peaches
6 pears
6 apples
4 large onions (green, though red or other may be substituted) or 3 bell pepper (green, though red or other may be substituted)
1 bunch celery
4 cups brown sugar
1 quart cider vinegar
1/2 cup pickling spices
2 tablespoons salt
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
Directions:
1. Boil together for two hours and put in sterlised jars.
2. Yield is approximate.
