A simple maple fudge my grandma used to make. Very frosting-like, but sweet and delicious. Ingredients:
1/2 cup brown sugar |
1/4 cup heavy cream |
3 tablespoons butter |
1 pinch salt |
1 2/3 cups confectioners' sugar |
1 teaspoon maple extract |
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract |
Directions:
1. Heat brown sugar, cream, butter, and salt in a heavy saucepan over medium heat until butter melts, about 5 minutes; remove from heat. Mix confectioner's sugar, maple extract, and vanilla extract into the sugar mixture. 2. Grease an 8-inch square cake pan. Pour sugar mixture into the prepared pan. Refrigerate until set, about 1 hour. |
