it sounds weird. but grandma don't lie Ingredients:
peel about 6 to 8 large green tomatoes |
add 2 tbl lemon juice |
1/4 tea vinegar |
dash of cloves |
3/4 cup sugar |
2 tbl tapioca |
3/4 tea cinnamon |
1/4 tea salt |
1/8 tea nutmeg |
let this mixture sit awhile at least 1 hour |
it will make its own juices, and make it easier to mix the spices evenly |
Directions:
1. put the whole thing in a pie shell 2. do not drain juice- 3. put 2 tbl butter over the top of tomatoes 4. and cover with a top crust shell. 5. make a few top cuts on the top for steam to release 6. bake at 400 degrees for 60 minutes |
