Perfect recipe for the junior baker! One bowl, fun to make, easy to succeed. Oh, and they taste great, too! High altitude tested (no adjustments). Ingredients:
1/2 cup peanut butter |
1/4 cup shortening |
1/2 cup brown sugar |
1/2 cup white sugar |
1 well-beaten egg (extra-large egg yields best results) |
1 cup flour |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
sugar |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350-degrees. 2. Combine all ingredients in mixing bowl. 3. Mix well with a spoon. 4. Shape dough into 1-inch round balls. 5. Place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. 6. Press balls flat with fork dipped in extra sugar. 7. Bake for 12-15 minutes. 8. Cookies should not be too brown. 9. Remove from oven and allow to cool on cookie sheet for one minute, then remove to wire racks. |
