Ingredients:
1-9in pie crusts(unbaked) regular or graham |
3 eggs, beaten |
3/4 cup(s) sugar(white) |
1/4 teaspoon(s) salt |
1 teaspoon(s) vanilla |
1 egg white |
2 1/2 cup(s) scalded milk |
1/4 teaspoon(s) nutmeg |
3 drop(s) yellow food coloring(optional) |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400*(350* for Graham cracker crust). Mix together eggs, sugar, salt, and vanilla. Stir well. Blend in scalded milk. For more color add 3 drops yellow food coloring(optional). Line pan with pastry and brush inside bottom and sides with egg white(only regular crust) to help prevent a soggy crust. Pour custard mixture into pie crust, sprikle with nutmeg. Bake 30-35 minutes or until knife inserted near center comes out clean. Cool and serve with whipped topping or ice cream. |
