My Grandma made this and so did my Mom. Ingredients:
1 (4 lb) chicken, cut up |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
1/4 teaspoon season-all salt |
3/4 cup flour |
4 cups water |
1/2 cup crisco cooking oil |
Directions:
1. Combine seasonings in flour; dredge chicken pieces to coat; fry in hot oil until browned. 2. Blend remaining flour with water; pour over chicken; cover and simmer on low 45 minutes until meat is almost falling off bone and gravy is thickened. Make sure to stir gently so gravy doesn't stick. |
