Grandma's Cheese Noodle Kugel |

My grandma's delicious version of this classic Jewish comfort food! I sometimes make a reduced fat version of this recipe by using low fat cheeses and egg whites. Ingredients:
12 ounces wide egg noodles |
2/3 cup sugar |
5 eggs |
8 ounces cream cheese (softened) |
8 ounces sour cream |
8 ounces cottage cheese |
raisins (optional) |
cinnamon (optional) |
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. 2. Cook the noodles according to the package instructions. 3. Spread out the cooked noodles in a greased 9x13 pan. 4. Mix the cheeses together with the eggs. 5. Add the sugar to the cheese mixture. 6. Add raisins to the cheese mixture if desired (optional). 7. Pour the cheese mixture evenly over the noodles. 8. Sprinkle cinnamon over the top of the kugel to taste if desired (optional). 9. Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until the kugel sets. |
