Not your normal caramel corn, but this is how my grandma makes it, and it's pretty dang good too! When I make this, I usually just stop at pouring it over the popcorn and it's great. Ingredients:
1 cup butter |
2 cups brown sugar |
1/2 cup light corn syrup |
6 quarts popped popcorn |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla |
Directions:
1. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan. 2. Add sugar, corn syrup and salt. 3. Bring the mixture to a boil and then add soda and vanilla. 4. Pour over popcorn. 5. Place on 2 (12x20) baking sheets. 6. Bake at 250 degrees for one hour, stirring every 15 minutes. 7. Store in an airtight container. |
