Ingredients:
1 teaspoon(s) baking soda |
1/8 cup(s) boiling water |
2 tablespoon(s) butter, melted |
1 cup(s) buttermilk |
1 egg white, beaten until stiff |
1 egg yolk, beaten |
1 cup(s) flour |
a dash(es) salt |
Directions:
1. Mix the flour, salt and buttermilk well. Add the melted butter and yolk of one egg, beaten. Boil enough water (about 1/8 cup) to dissolve baking soda. Add to mixture. Beat egg white and fold into batter. Cook on griddle and serve with syrup, powdered sugar, fruit or condiments to taste. You can double, triple or quadruple the recipe as needed. |
