Grandma Solberg's Banana Cake |

I have never tasted a banana bread that I liked because my Grandma always made this cake instead when there were overripe bananas, and no banana bread can compare to this! Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups flour, sifted |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg |
1/2 cup butter |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 1/2 cups sugar |
2 eggs |
1 cup mashed banana |
3 tablespoons buttermilk |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350. 2. Sift all dry ingredients together (flour, baking soda, salt, nutmeg). 3. Cream the butter and vanilla in a large bowl, gradually adding sugar. 4. Beat in eggs one at a time. 5. Beat in dry ingredients. 6. Add bananas and butttermilk. 7. Bake in 9x9 pan for 35 - 45 minutes. |
