Grandma Mary's Brown Sugar Pudding

A family favorite across the generations. My great-grandma made this for every family holiday and get together. This is her original recipe, found in the back of a kitchen cabinet a few months ago. She always said it was easy to double, triple, or more.
Ingredients:
2 cups brown sugar
2 cups boiling water
3/4 cup tapioca
1 cup crushed pineapple
1 cup chopped walnuts
Directions:
1. Put sugar in top of double boiler.
2. Add boiling water and tapioca - cook until thick.
3. When cool, add pineapple and walnuts.
4. Top with whipped cream.
