Grandma Chics Cinnamon Loaf 1965 |

Although this is similar as others here on Zaar, I am posting this one also for my Grandkids cookbook. Ingredients:
1/4 cup crisco shortening |
1 cup granulated sugar |
2 large eggs |
2 cups all-purpose flour |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
1 cup sour milk |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
6 tablespoons brown sugar |
2 tablespoons cinnamon |
Directions:
1. Cream the shortening, sugar, until well combined, add the eggs, then dry and wet ingredients. 2. Combine the batter well. 3. Combine the brown sugar, and cinnamon and set aside. 4. In your greased and floured baking loaf pan, place half the batter evenly, sprinkle half the cinnamon mixture over that and cover with remaining batter. Sprinkle all the remaining sugar/cinnamon mixture evenly over the top. 5. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for one hour. |
