Grandma Bs Apple Salad

My grandmother always made the simple salad for all of our family functions.
Ingredients:
1 large can crushed pineapple
3 well beaten eggs
2 tablespoons flour
1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon butter
6 large crisp red apples
lemon juice
1/2 cups chopped pecans
Directions:
1. Drain pineapple, reserving juice.
2. Dice apples and sprinkle with lemon juice to retain color.
3. Bring juice to a boil, carefully add eggs.
4. Add flour, sugar, and butter and boil again to thicken.
5. Stir well.
6. Let cool.
7. Add pineapple, diced apples, and pecans.
8. Stir well.
9. Chill and serve.
